Did You Know?

Menno’s bees are busy… To make a 375g jar of honey, our bees travel 85,000 km (that’s twice the circumference of the Earth) and visit over 2 million flowers. Each Menno’s bee makes about 1 1/2 teaspoons of honey throughout its seven-week lifetime. Our hives, which we manage around the Eastern Cape, each contain between 50,000 and 70,000 bees. Every hive is carefully placed in a pristine environment to ensure that the communities thrive.

Our Commitment to the Environment and Community

At Menno’s, we are also passionate about preserving the environment. All of our honey sites are badger-friendly. Through the support of our Pure Honey, Menno’s employs over 10 previously disadvantaged people, providing them with opportunities to support their families and improve their lives.
